The scenic Langtang Valley lies closer to Kathmandu as compared to other trekking regions of Nepal. This trekking region is still considered ‘unspoilt’ area because it is lesser used by both trekkers and locals. Following the monsoon season, this trek offers marvelous views of the great peak of Langtang Lirung (7,246m). The popular peak dominates the upper valley and straddles the Tibetan border. During spring season, the area becomes an ideal place to spot birds and flowers. According to a legend, a Lama following a runaway yak discovered the valley. Hence, the name -Lang (Tibetan name for YAK), Tang (more currently "Dhang" means to follow). Trekkers can have good opportunities for moderate climbing excursions in this area. For this you need to spend some extra days for exploration of the extensive glacier system. Our return route takes us past the holy lakes of Gosainkunda, an important pilgrimage, and over a high pass that brings us almost to the edge of the Kathmandu Valley itself.

Eight hours drive by bus and overnight stay at Syabru Bensi. (1,460m.). During the bus journey, one can have scenic views of the Himalayan ranges, lush green forests, traditional rural settlements, the Trishuli river and visit the famous historic site of Nuwakot Durbar (palace), etc.
There is two trail to get a Lama Hotel. Via Sherpagaon and via Langtang Khola. Sherpagaon is the high route to Lama Hotel; this route is very nice for the Mountain views and Local Settlement.
The day starts with a gentle climb, but it soon becomes steeper, passing through a forest of hemlocks, oaks, maples and rhododendrons high above the Lantang Khola. In some places, it is so steep that the trail is on logs anchored to the valley wall. Tantalizing glimpses of Lantang Lirung appear through the trees. You need to walk 5 hours to get in Langtang and stay overnight at teahouse.
The trail winds through the villages and climbs onto a ridge dominated by a large, square chorten and a long row of mani walls. It then climbs gradually past the small village of Mundu and Sindum. Another hour of walking will bring you to the beautiful yak pastures of Yamphu. when you cross the Laja Khola (a small stream), you can see the Kyanjin Gompa and the dramatic icefall flowing from a height of 6,781m of Langtang Lirung.
Explore day On this day, you will have to hike up the moraine north of Kyanjin Gompa to an elevation of 4,300m or more. From the moraine, there is a spectacular view of Lantang Lirung, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji (6,575m.) and the foot of the huge Lirung Glacier. You can sometimes spot Himalayan tahr on the slopes above. There are two good viewpoints in the area. You can climb and have a breathtaking view of the surrounding areas. A longer excursion is to 4984m. Tsergo Ri , a five hours walk from Kyajin Gompa.
In the beginning. the trail goes down hill and then straight to the Thulo Sybru. It takes 5 hours walk for you to get back to Thulo Sybru from Lama Hotel, and stay at teahouse.
Approximately 4 hours walk to Sing Gompa and ascent around 1040m.While climbing past the Gompa, we can see school and army post, and switch back up the steep hill above the village past a few houses. The trail is now less steeply. While on the way, you can find a dense alpine forest with hemlock and oak trees. We will have also to pass through an old chorten and the top of the ridge at Foprang Danda. After an hour’s walk, we will reach Shin Gomba and overnight stay at teahouse.
The trails climb steeply up the ridge, at several points on top of the ridge itself. The ridge cerates a transition zone between rich mountain forests on the northern steps and dry shrub vegetations. Within some time, you will reach Chalang Pati (3,650m.). When you start to walk again, you will enter the Gosainkunda protected area and you will reach Laurebinayak (3920m.) from where you can enjoy the mountain view such as Mt. Manaslu, Langtang Lirung, Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and many more unnamed peaks. The trail again ascends, with nice views. You need to walk six hours to get in Gosainkunda.
The trail traverses the northern side of Gosaninkunda lake and climbs through rugged country towards the pass. Then we reach Laurebinayak pass passing three more small lakes. From the pass, the trail descends along a stream and goes through the beautiful places like- Bhera Goth, (4240m.), Phedi (3740m.), Dupi Chaur (3,630m.), and finally we reach at Ghopte. Overnight in a local tea house.
Gently descending down from the ridge at Ghopte, the trail makes innumerable ups and downs across ravines and the boulders of old moraines, we slowly make our ascent to Tharepati (3630m.). Apart from this, we also visit the places such as Magen Goth, Panghu and Khutumsang. Overnight stay in a local lodge.
Today, we would be lucky enough to view the panoramic view of stunning mountains and traditional hamlets on the way to Chisapani. Besides, we would also observe Tamang and Sherpa culture along the trail. Finally, we will reach Chisapani and overnight in a local lodge.
While on the trail, we would ascent about 150m. and descent 1150m.It would be a matter of pleasure for us to penetrate the places like Borlang Bhanjyang, Shivapuri ridge and Sundarijal. We will spend the night in a local teahouse at Sundarijal.
